Windup - September 26th

Thank you to everyone who attended the RLBC Windup on September 26th.  Here are some highlights:

  • David Calam was recognized for his valuable contributions and was awarded the Bowls Saskatchewan Award of Merit.
  • Garth Zummack and Pat Schlotter were recognized as “Our Shining Stars” for their incredible efforts in 2019 with the restoration of Green D.  “Our Shinning Stars” is a new award that was established in 2020 which will recognize members who go above and beyond their volunteer call of duty at the club.
  • Gold and Silver pins were awarded for the 7 tournaments that took place over the season.  Thank you to Doug Normand for making the arrangements for the tournaments and the pins.
  • The top 3 winning teams in the Jitney tournament received some cash back!  Thank you to Jan Robson for making the Jitney arrangements.
  • Congratulations to Doreen Mohr – our lucky winner of the 50/50 raffle (who just happened to draw her own ticket!)  Thank you to Ingrid Riffel for selling the 50/50 tickets.
Thank you to Jordan Kos for her amazing variety of cakes which had a “bowls” spin on them!  Someone was so impressed that a marriage proposal took place.  Thank you to Bo Kos for treating us to tasty home made pumpkin pies.  Delicious.

Thank you to Judy Whiting and John Whiting for serving the delicious treats and assisting with the refreshments.

Visit the  RLBC Website Gallery which displays some photos which captured the moments of the day as well as a video featuring Garth Zummack and Vi McPherson.
The news you have been waiting for and it is good news. The City has approved our Return to Play protocols.  We can start bowling with the identified restrictions on Monday, June 29 as long as you have taken out a membership for this year.  If you haven't, it is not too late to join.

The Return to Play protocols are attached.  Please read and become familiar with them.  It is hoped that as the summer advances, some or all of them with be removed or lessened and we can return to something we are more familiar with.

The necessary forms are also attached.  Please complete all the required forms.

Our summer student's role is mentioned in the protocols.

Thanks for your patience during this trying time.  On the positive side, it has allowed us time to do some necessary maintenance on the greens.
